My good feeling of the day:
Not only are my favorite jeans getting loose on me all over....my workout pants are too! :-D!!!!
Also...here is my constant motivation. I am a geek and I have been loving the recent slew of dystopian style books with a strong female lead, such as The Hunger Games and Divergent. My goal is to be a strong woman like Katniss. I absolutely love the quote, 'Strong is the new beautiful.' Beauty comes in a strong, passionate, intelligent woman.

Weight: 180.0 (-1.6....back on track!)
Waist- 35.5 (-.5)
Thighs: L: 23 (-.5)
Chest: 37.5 (.5)
Arms R: 12, L: 12 (-.5 each)
Inches lost this week- 2.5 inches
Total overall inches lost: -10
Slow and steady wins the race, right?

I actually did it!
For the first time ever I did something that I've been dying to do for years...go snowboarding! It was amazing and scary and fantastic and a little painful! My legs have never had to work so hard before in my life! My brother in law was a very kind and patient teacher....even after I took him out a few times....sorry!!! I can't wait to get out there again...once my muscles heal a bit :) here is to trying new things in 2013! 🏂
a new hobby...
Well, to kick off another healthy lifestyle choice, I am going to try something that I have always, always, always wanter to do tomorrow...snowboarding! I got all the gear and my fantastic sister in law and brother in law are going to teach me. Hopefully I can handle it and don't end up breaking my leg! I want to keep adding fun, healthy, movement based activities to my life to replace sitting on the couch and watching TV. Last year's activity was kayaking (which I love in the summertime!!) This year's adventure will be snowboarding. I am sure I will have funny pictures to share :)

Measurements Vs. Weight...a battle that I hate!
Well, I have an added motivation for this healthier, better looking, less flabby me! My brother is looking to get married in June...as in just 6 months from now. I will not look like the fat sibling in photos! It is not a choice! I've been in way to many wedding pictures where I say: we'll, my hair looked nice...everything under it was not so much. Woo hoo for motivation.
Now in referring to the title....here are my numbers for this week...
Weight: 181.6. (+1.6) (yargh!)
Waist- 36 in. (-1in)
Thighs: R: 23 (-1) L: 24 (-.5)
Chest: 38.5 (-.5)
Inches lost this week- 3 inches
Total overall inches lost: -7.5
So here is my frustration. I lost another 3 inches off of my body this week, therefore I am slimming down. My weight, however went up. I have been working my butt off (literally, har har har) with Turbofire, so I think I am building muscle....but it still gets me down. I think I am only going to weigh myself one a month from now on to eliminate this brain game. It really gets me down and makes my success feel non-successful. I am working on week 3 of turbofire and oddly enough, I love the feeling of sore muscles and I feel stronger every day. I keep telling myself that strong is the new beautiful. I am going to be a beautiful, strong woman but the this summer!!!

Drumroll please!
Well, it is here....weigh in day! I know that it hasn't been a full week yet, but I wanted to start weighing in on Mondays....although I may switch to Fridays...right before the weekend...but for now, here are the results!
Weight: 180.4 (-2lbs)
Waist: 37 (-1.5in)
Hips: 42 (-2in)
Chest: 39 (-1.5in)
The rest of my measurements stayed the same....
Summery: this week I lost 2 pounds and 4.5 total inches...not too bad for less than a week and traveling to grad school over the weekend!
Other life accomplishments this week (it's not all about weight in my world!) I officially ended 2 of my grad classes and registered for my very last 2 towards my masters, I got 2 A-'s in those classes, and I made Who's Who among American College Students...I was pretty psyched about that, I even get an award at graduation!

I guess I'm no longer a spring chicken...
I've come to the realization that I need to become fit for the rest of my life...not skinny, not sexy, fit...F...I...T. Why is it so hard to dedicate a small part of your life to you life...and living that life? I worked 8.5 hours today, did grad school homework for 8 hours and now I am getting little sleep. I did, however get my Turbofire in there. I am ranting out of exhaustion but I guess the cartoon says it all!
